Award Description: The highest award that the ACR can bestow, the Presidential Gold Medal is awarded in recognition of exemplary achievements in rheumatology over an entire career. Established by the past presidents of the ACR, candidates will have made important contributions in multiple areas such as clinical medicine, research, education, or administration.
Award Terms and Funding: A one-time, merit-based award and the recipient will receive a $5,000 cash award.

Application Evaluation Criteria: Applicants are evaluated on research and scholarly activities, practice or clinical excellence, education or training excellence, mentoring or coaching excellence, advocacy, and service to the ACR/ARP.
All Membership and Awards Committee recommendations are presented to the ACR Board of Directors for final approval and winners will be announced after the August board meeting.
