4-12 weeks curriculum
A brief introduction/induction will be followed by gradual assimilation. Fellows will have an opportunity to attend all teaching rounds/MDTs and attend morning handover meetings. They will be able to shadow consultants during their day to day activities to get a better feel for the departmental working. They will be encouraged to take up a short clinical audit/research project and complete it during their stay. Depending on the quality and volume of data, further dissemination in conferences or publications will be considered. Subject to passing the occupational health clearances, they will be able to observe in theatres. Hands-on assisting might be possible, according to the Consultant in charge. The fellows will be able to shadow all the consultants in the department so that they are exposed to a wide variety of pathology. There are plenty of training opportunities which the fellows may be able to utilize to the best effect as they feel fit. At the end of the fellowship, they will have a testimonial from the department detailing the time spent and the academic and clinical activities engaged in.
