Dr. Tamer M. A. Mohamed is an Associate Professor and Director of Cardiac Regeneration at Baylor College of Medicine, with extensive expertise in molecular cardiology, cardiac physiology, and translational therapeutics. He received his Ph.D. in Molecular Cardiology from the University of Manchester and completed advanced postdoctoral training in cardiac signaling, regeneration, and epigenetics at leading institutions, including the Gladstone Institutes, University of California, San Francisco. His research focuses on elucidating mechanisms of cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure, with a strong emphasis on developing innovative regenerative therapies such as cardiomyocyte proliferation and direct cardiac reprogramming. Dr. Mohamed has played a key role in advancing gene therapy approaches and translational cardiac models, including precision-cut human heart slices for drug testing and disease modeling. His work bridges basic science and clinical application, contributing to novel therapeutic strategies aimed at repairing the injured heart and improving outcomes in cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Tamer M. A. Mohamed is a faculty member at Baylor College of Medicine. He conducts this training program in his personal capacity and not as a representative of, or on behalf of, Baylor College of Medicine.
