Dr. Quamarul Hassan, Ph.D., is a Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry, with a distinguished research focus in craniofacial development and genetics. His work centers on understanding the molecular, genetic, and epigenetic mechanisms that regulate skeletal and craniofacial formation, particularly the differentiation of osteoblasts and maintenance of bone homeostasis.

Dr. Hassan’s research has significantly advanced knowledge of gene regulation in bone biology, including the role of microRNAs, long non-coding RNAs, and chromatin remodeling in osteogenesis and craniofacial anomalies such as cleft lip and palate.
