I had nice experience at QAH , Portsmouth.
Prof. Jim Khan is highly experienced and knowledgeable surgeon. He involves the students clinically and theoretically with patients. There's also good case exposure in QAH.
One thing I would like to recommend is that fellows shud be allowed to atleast assist few cases , only observing there for 2- 4 weeks becomes boring. Rest everything was good.
will be short, because a lot of very impressive and great moments had been gone through during my stay in Portsmouth.
What did you like about the program?
1 For me it was a very useful and full impressions program. I was accepted and got all the support from prof. J. Khan and his team. I had activities all working days and was accepted as a team member. I had the opportunity to see all processes of patient management in elective coloproctology.
What are the areas of improvement?
2 I improved my laparoscopic surgery skills. But the most important thing for me was įossibility to see and touch robotic surgery. I had the opportunity to learn the very basic skills of robotic surgery on a simulator and participate in a workshop helded in the Oxford simulation center. It is very important for my later job as a surgeon.
Would you be okay for future candidates to contact you?
3 Yes, You are welcome to contact me.
It has being a great experience stemming from my background and an opportunity to acquire basic skill in Robotic Surgery.
This experience will definitely impact my practice of laparoscopic surgery and provide an avenue to possibly delve into Robotic Surgery.
Many thanks to Trialect Support, Prof Khan and the entire team of Portsmouth Colorectal department at QAH.
Thank you for this opportunity to attend the Colorectal and Robotic Surgery Fellowship at Portsmouth. Prof. Khan was exceptionally supportive and an outstanding mentor throughout the programme. It was a highly enriching experience, and I gained valuable insights and surgical techniques under the guidance of Prof. Jim Khan and his team.
It was an exceptional chance to enhance my clinical skills. I would like to express my special thanks and regards to Prof. Jim Khan, Dr. Guglielmo, Dr. Ania Przedlacka, Dr. Conti, Dr. Diana Ronconi, and all the staff in the operating theatre and department.
As we are planning to introduce the first robot in the private sector in Oman, possibly in September, the refreshment with robotics cases was quite beneficial.
Once again, I would like to extend my special regards to Prof. Khan for his surgical expertise and Dr. Guglielmo for his assistance in a new environment.
Thank you once again for these wonderful experiences.
