Program Overview
The Global Liver Disease program joins 3 previously separate regional programs. Three awardees will be selected in total. One award will be allocated to the US & Canada region, one to Europe / Australia and one award to the eligible Asian countries. Applicants from each of these regions will be reviewed by their respective Scientific Review Committee only.
Each awardee is funded up to $130,000 USD over two years, paid as annual installments of $65,000 USD per year directly to the scholar’s institution. Funding for the second year is contingent upon submission of a progress report and approval by the Chair of the Scientific Review Committee which oversees each regional program.
Recipients of these competitive awards under the program will be selected by a Committee comprised of leaders in the field of liver disease. The Committee will review complete applications and select research proposals based on their scientific merit, feasibility, and innovation. Announcement of Award Recipients will be made at an awards dinner hosted by the Committee and senior representatives from Gilead.
