The applicant must meet the following criteria to be considered for this award:

Researchers and clinicians of any level are invited to apply; they must be American Heart Association/American Stoke Association members.
The research should be applicable to vascular cognitive impairment.
The candidate must submit an abstract in the appropriate category for the International Stroke Conference 2027 in accordance with the rules and regulations for submitting American Heart Association abstracts.
The award will be given to the applicant with the highest scoring abstract in the Brain Health category.
An individual may apply for only one award to be presented at the International Stroke Conference 2027.
Previous winners of this award are not eligible to re-enter the competition in subsequent years.
Only one abstract per candidate will be considered. The applicant should be the first/presenting author.
There is no citizenship requirement for this award.
