LSRS KYOCERA RESIDENT FELLOW GRANT

Lumbar Spine Research Society

The LSRS is awarding a resident fellow research grant up to $10,000. Criteria for the resident fellow PI's: MD/DO applicants must be residents or fellows at the time of application. An LSRS member must be listed as a investigator on the grant project for consideration.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR GRANT RECIPIENTS:

All grant recipients are required to submit semiannual financial reporting to the LSRS.

The Principal Investigator is required to attend the 2027 Annual Meeting to accept the award in person.

The Principal Investigator is required to attend the 2028 Annual Meeting to formally present their findings as an update.

Grant recipients will be contacted to submit abstract of their research outcomes to subsequent LSRS Annual Meetings.

Any future publications of the research should include acknowledgement of funding from LSRS.

Research awards cannot be used for industry development or personal business financial gain.

The LSRS does not allow indirect costs to be included in the budget.

Principal Investigators and LSRS members cannot receive salaries from the grant award.

The award cannot be used for travel expenses.

If the research project is not completed within the allotted timeframe, including approved extensions, the residual funds must be returned to the LSRS.

Principal investigators may submit proposals to multiple grant opportunities.

Only one proposal may be submitted per principal investigator for each grant opportunity.

Each proposal must be unique.

At least one member of the LSRS must be listed as an investigator for the project to be considered.

Co-Investigators may include medical student, resident or fellow.

Previous grant recipients will not be eligible for consideration for three years.

The LSRS Research Committee will review each Letter of Intent, select projects will be invited to complete a full grant application.

LOI notifications will be sent in November 2026.

Those selected to complete a full grant application will have 6 weeks to complete.

Notification to grant award(s) recipients will be made in February 2027.

Funding Start Date: May 1, 2027, 12 month funding period, extensions granted with permission from the Research Committee.
