The Academy established the KNAW Ter Meulen Fund in 1983. The Ter Meulen Fund consists of the estate of H.C.E. ter Meulen, who worked in paediatric medicine. The aim of the Ter Meulen Fund is to promote outstanding medical, biomedical and biological research in paediatrics. The KNAW Ter Meulen Grant is funded by the Ter Meulen Fund, part of the Academy’s Medical Sciences Fund. The grant is awarded annually, with recipients receiving up to EUR 35.000.
