The Clinical and Translational Study Network (CTSN) group of the IADR has established the IADR CTSN Outstanding Award in order to promote high quality and excellence in science for promising young researchers working in the field of clinical and translational oral health research.

Award

At the IADR General Session, a maximum of two awards, each consisting of US$500 and a certificate, will be presented to the winning Oral Presentation. We may also choose one award from poster presentations with a US $300 prize. The award(s) will be announced at the annual business meeting of the CTSN at the annual IADR scientific meeting.

Application Procedures:

The abstract must be submitted for Oral or Poster presentation at the annual IADR scientific meeting. The presenting author must select the CTSN as the IADR Group/Network to which the abstract should be submitted for review, and select the award from the list of IADR Group/Network Awards indicating that they wish to be considered for the award.

All abstracts that meet the eligibility criteria outlined above may enter the Oral or Poster competition.

Review and Selection Process:

The review will be based on the scientific quality of the submitted abstract and the presentation at the IADR General Session. A total score from the abstract (50%) and the presentation (50%) will be considered for rating the awardees.

Scoring for abstract review: The abstracts will be peer-reviewed and scored (according to the IADR Abstract rating scale 1-5) by the Abstract Reviewers and the IADR CTSN scientific program chair.

Scoring for Poster Presentation: The presentation will be judged and scored by two reviewers during the IADR General Session, using a rating scale of 1-5 (1 as the most outstanding).

The awardee(s) will be notified before the completion of the IADR General Session and communicated with the CTSN members through the CTSN Newsletter. The CTSN of IADR reserves the right not to give any awards when no eligible entries are received or in case submissions are not of sufficiently high standard as determined by the Award Committee.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants are required to be members of the Clinical and Translational Study Network (CTSN), by the application deadline.

Dental (DDS, DMD) students, graduate students, including residents enrolled in an advanced dental training program or a scientific training program such as a MS, Ph.D. or equivalent, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty within the three years of academic appointment are considered eligible. This information needs to be indicated when submitting the abstract.
