Full-year grants for humanities research in Europe
Sven and Dagmar Salén's foundation announces two full-year scholarships for humanistic research at a university or other research institution in Europe (but not in Sweden) ahead of the academic year 2025/2026 .
Applicants must have completed their doctoral degree in 2022 or later. The scholarships, which are personal, are intended to support younger researchers active at Swedish universities and will not, as a rule, be awarded to anyone older than 40 years.
The stipend is SEK 350,000 for 12 months and is reduced accordingly if the stay abroad is shorter. However, the scholarship will not be granted for a shorter period of time than 10 months. Contributions beyond this amount will not be given (so no travel costs, costs for an accompanying person or the like). The scholarship is paid with half the amount at the beginning of the scholarship period and with the other half in the middle of the period after a report/certificate on the progress of the research work has been submitted to the foundation. After the end of the scholarship period, a brief report on the completed research work must be submitted within three months.
The preliminary application must have been received by the Sven and Dagmar Saléns Foundation by February 20 , 2025 at the latest . The application is made online through the link below to the application form, where a cross must be marked in the box for Full-year scholarships. PDF attachments can be uploaded individually.

The application must contain the following (a total of no more than 5 pages including the application form):

After the preliminary applications have been reviewed, the Salén Foundation will, at the board meeting on March 4, 2025 , invite a maximum of 10 applicants to submit a complete application. A decision on the dividend will be made on April 23, 2025
