AI Based Application Success Predictor

1. Strong alignment with the Eurofins Foundation objectives (Highest Predictor ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

This is the most important selection criterion.

Competitive projects should clearly support one or more of the Foundation's objectives, including:

  • Global health
  • Food and product safety
  • Environmental protection
  • Scientific education
  • Community well-being
  • Public health initiatives
  • Sustainability

Projects that align with two or more Foundation objectives receive additional consideration.

2. Clear, measurable, and lasting impact (Highest Predictor ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

The Foundation prioritizes projects that demonstrate:

  • Significant community benefit
  • Long-term sustainability
  • Measurable outcomes
  • Lasting positive impact
  • Tangible improvements for beneficiaries

Projects should explain both the immediate and long-term benefits of the proposed work.

3. Clearly defined need and effective use of funds (Highest Predictor ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

Competitive applications clearly describe:

  • The problem being addressed
  • Why the project is needed
  • Expected outcomes
  • How requested funding will be used efficiently

The Foundation specifically requires applicants to explain the project's need, impact, and effective use of funds.

4. Strong methodology and feasible implementation (Very High Predictor ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

Successful proposals include:

  • Well-defined objectives
  • Appropriate methodology
  • Realistic timeline
  • Achievable milestones
  • Practical implementation plan

The Steering Committee explicitly evaluates whether the proposed methodology is sufficiently detailed and appropriate.

5. Innovation and sustainable approach (Very High Predictor ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

Competitive projects often demonstrate:

  • Innovative solutions
  • Sustainable practices
  • Prevention-focused interventions
  • Scientific or technological innovation
  • Long-term environmental or health benefits

Projects emphasizing sustainability are viewed favorably.

6. Inclusion, diversity, and prevention (Very High Predictor ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

The Foundation gives enhanced consideration to projects that:

  • Reduce inequalities
  • Promote diversity
  • Improve inclusion
  • Use prevention and education
  • Reach underserved populations

These themes are specifically highlighted during Steering Committee review.

7. Organizational capability and track record (Very High Predictor ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • At least 24 months of operational history
  • Effective management of previous projects
  • Capacity to deliver the proposed work
  • Successful management of international grants (where applicable)

Organizations with a proven record of delivering impactful projects are more competitive.

8. Financial sustainability and co-funding (High Predictor ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆)

Competitive applications demonstrate that:

  • The Foundation's grant represents no more than 25% of project costs
  • Additional funding sources are available
  • The project can continue beyond the Foundation's contribution

The Steering Committee considers whether the organization can secure complementary funding and sustain project progress.

9. Well-justified budget and efficient resource utilization (High Predictor ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆)

Successful proposals include:

  • Realistic budgets
  • Clear cost justification
  • Efficient allocation of resources
  • Low administrative overhead

The Foundation generally limits organizational overhead and expects grant funds to be directed primarily toward project activities.

10. Compliance with eligibility and reporting requirements (High Predictor ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆)

Competitive applicants must:

  • Be legally registered nonprofits or eligible organizations
  • Submit complete applications
  • Meet all eligibility requirements
  • Agree to provide impact reports after project completion

Failure to meet reporting or eligibility requirements can affect both current and future funding eligibility.

1. The organisation implementing the project is legally registered and has an activities track record of at least 24 months;

2. The project is 9-12 months in duration (this period can be part of a multi-year project) and will be implemented between Q4 2026 and Q4 2027;

3. The project is impactful and aligned with the objectives of the Foundation;

4. The project description must clearly mention the needs it addresses, its positive impact and the effective use of the funds;

5. The requested funding represents a maximum of 25% of the total costs of the project, including staff costs if applicable. The grant request can also not exceed €25,000;

6. Only one application per calendar year per organisation will be accepted.
