3. Recommended predictors for your database
The most defensible variables to record are:
Applicant eligibility and membership status.
Number of relevant publications over the previous five years.
Previous EHRA congress abstracts accepted.
EHRA certification examination status.
Career stage and age, where specified.
Relevant clinical and electrophysiology experience.
Research or training project relevance.
Academic qualifications and supporting documentation.
Host institution and supervisor suitability, where applicable.
Previous award history, if disclosed and relevant to eligibility.
Topic area: Cardiovascular Research → Cardiac Electrophysiology → Arrhythmias.
Organization type: Non-profit professional medical association.
Important distinction: These variables are grounded in published criteria or are reasonable program-specific research variables. They should not be described as proven historical success predictors unless applicant-level and award-outcome data establish that relationship.
