Research data are both the starting point and the result of research. Their long-term preservation and availability enable scientific progress and quality control through reproduction. That is why the Foundation supports the re-use of open research data in the context of our Open Science Policy.

Prerequisite: Previous funding by the Foundation. Applications can be submitted up to 6 months after the end of the project.

What is funded?

To support the necessary transformation processes, the Foundation provides its grantees with additional funding to prepare research data for data reuse and to make generated data available in a suitable, publicly accessible and ideally certified repository.

The corpus of the data prepared for data reuse should generally contain research data funded by the foundation. Applicants are required to decide upon the target repository and to submit a letter of support of this institution.
