Office for External Partnerships -- Daiichi Sankyo Open Innovation Program

Duke’s Office for External Partnerships is pleased to announce that Duke faculty members are eligible to submit proposals for the Daiichi Sankyo Open Innovation Program ( https://www.daiichisankyo.com/rd/open_innovation/ ). This initiative, hosted by Daiichi Sankyo, seeks to accelerate novel early-stage research into therapeutic solutions through academic-industry collaboration. Daiichi Sankyo actively pursues external partnerships aimed at discovering new therapeutics and expanding opportunities for scientific innovation breakthroughs. By leveraging complementary expertise and strengths, this program aspires to create new value for patients.

Funding: Amount to be determined based on the scope of the proposal with awards up to $650,000.00 for one year in some programs. A team of Duke researchers are currently funded under the Daiichi Sankyo Open Innovation Program ( Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction ).

The Request for Proposals (RFP) is open on a rolling basis throughout the year. Please note that proposals should not contain confidential or unpublished information.

All information submitted to Daiichi Sankyo through this application form, via email or other means, will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary. Consequently, Daiichi Sankyo shall have no obligation to maintain confidentiality and may use or disclose such information to third parties without restriction. The Office for External Partnerships, in collaboration with the Office of Translation and Commercialization, will conduct a preliminary review of all proposals prior to submission. This review is intended to protect Duke’s confidential information and to confirm that any relevant Duke intellectual property used in the conduct of the research is protected and not subject to existing licenses or encumbrances.
