The National Multiple Sclerosis Society offers a four-week MS clinical mentorship program to students who have completed at least one year of medical school by the start of the program . The students will work with neurologists and other clinicians specializing in MS (e.g., urologists, neuro-ophthalmologists, physiatrists, nurses, radiologists, rehab therapists, etc.). Over the course of the four weeks, students will spend time at one or more MS specialty centers and may visit community practice locations and additional settings if available. Mentorship sites are located at MS clinics spanning the country.

The 2026 program will take place June 2-26, 2026. The mentorship is full time during regular business hours, with possible evening hours. Applicants will have the opportunity to indicate site preferences in the application. The National MS Society provides an award of $5,000 to the student.
The online application must be completed with all required information to be considered. Students must make their own living arrangements and have their own transportation to assigned mentorship sites. Students must comply with all vaccination, training or other institutional requirements prior to participating in the program at the matched institution. The mentorship is open to all medical students attending school who are United States citizens or candidates lawfully admitted to the U.S. for permanent residence.
MS Clinical Mentorship for Psychology Graduate Students
The National MS Society is offering a four-week clinical mentorship experience for psychology graduate students who have completed at least one year of their graduate program . The students will observe assessment and management strategies, learn about current research as it informs new treatment tactics and observe other clinical aspects of care including comprehensive neurological care and rehabilitation.
