The AADOCR SCADA/Dentsply Sirona Research Award was created to support dentist-scientists, in particular SCADA Program Alumni, in their research careers. The immediate goal of this award is to support early-stage dentist-scientists, such as post-doctoral scholars and pre-tenure faculty members. Tenured faculty are not eligible for the award.

The long-term objective of this award is to increase the number of successfully funded dentist-scientists at the higher ranks in science and academia in the fields of Dental, Oral, and/or Craniofacial Biology.

Award

One award per year in the amount of $10,000 will be made. This award is intended to provide travel, supplies, manuscript fees, and/or other support related to training and career development during the award period. This award will be made to the institution and no indirect costs (F&A) shall be allowed.

The AADOCR SCADA/Dentsply Sirona Research Award is open to individuals that fulfill all the four criteria below:
1.    Members of IADR/AADOCR
2.    Individuals who hold a DDS, DMD and/or BDS
3.    Dentist-scientists who have demonstrated a commitment to a research career in dental, oral and/or craniofacial sciences, as well as academic research promise, which will be evaluated based on the candidate’s CV, proposed research project, and the support demonstrated in the supervisor/department head letter, and
4.    Post-doctoral scholars, instructors, or professors (or equivalents) at an accredited dental school or academic research center.

Note: Applicants who are alumni of the SCADA Program will be encouraged to apply.
